Why are my pictures being displayed with regions that are red and/or green?

The red and green regions you are seeing are actually exposure warnings. The red regions are areas of the picture that are over-exposed. The green regions are areas of the picture that are under-exposed. These colours are not permanently on your pictures. You may want to deactivate the auto-exposure warnings as follows:
View mode:
-
- Click View menu.
- You should see a checkmark next to Exposure Warning. To deactivate the exposure warning, simply click Exposure Warning to uncheck.
Edit mode
- Click the Exposure Warning icon to turn the warning on and off. It is the first icon on the toolbar, an exclamation mark in a square.
